Zihuaroofs.com- Fundraiser letter 2022

To all our family and friends, As we prepare for our return to Mexico on October 31, 2022 we are sending this letter out to all our friends and family praying that you will be willing to help some of those in need in the Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa area.
We will alter the Covid Protocol to include masks and hand cleaning. Everyone will be provided with a mask to wear while we are present. There will be no meals or drinks provided by the families but we will provide individual water bottles for all in attendance. After the roof is completed, we will ask our helper Filiberto to briefly share his testimony with those in attendance sharing the love of Jesus with them which is the "why" behind what we do.
Last winter we completed 38 roofs and we returned home April 7, 2022. We have now completed over 383 roofs in the last 11 years in the communities above Zihuatanejo and we leave it in God's hands how many we will be able to complete this coming winter. Filiberto is given an honorarium for each roof completed which is part of the total roof cost. As we did the last 11 years the "paying it forward" concept will be used ensuring growth in the community and a sense of ownership and pride in helping neighbors.
We are planning to repair or replace roofs again with galvanized metal sheeting and each roof should cost approximately $450.00 Canadian. The average cost per 6 meter sheet is 870 pesos ($56.49 Canadian per sheet). We are praying that the cost of material will be the same this coming winter or gone up minimally. This type of roofing material gives them a minimum 20 years of protection. The owners who can manage a minimal amount are asked to also participate by contributing financially which gives them pride of ownership in the work being done on their home. This allows us to do one or two more houses over the winter as well.
We are blessed by the support we have received since receiving our non-profit status, thank you to all who have supported us in the past and pray that God puts it on your heart to continue to help the people of Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa. 1- Go to zihuaroofs.com and click on "sponsor a roof" or "donate now". This will take you to a page that explains how Canada Helps channels funds directly to our Zihua Roofs Society bank account in Vernon. Canada Helps will receipt you immediately for Zihua Roofs Society.
2- if your bank or credit union allows "email transfer" this is also another easy option. You would click on the "email transfer" button which you would then send to our email address at roofs4zihuamx@outlook.com. There is a place on the screen where you would make reference to Zihua Roofs Society (very important). We would then receipt you at the end of the year. You would be asked to put in a security question for us to answer such as "your wife's name, dog's name "etc. You would then send us an email with the answer for us to access your donation.
3- If you would still prefer to send checks please do so to:
